The Power of Togetherness at L’Unione Editoriale

Running some companies in a group is the best idea to make them survive for long term although it is only in regional scale. L’Unione Editoriale is regional media group of Sardinia owns 4 companies under it : L’Unione Sarda, is an italian regional daily newspaper founded on 13 October 1889 which was about 126 years ago; Radiolina, is a local radio station, operating in Sardinia; it was the first local station established in the Island, and it’s the first free radio in the region. This Radio launched on 19 June 1975. We access this radio on: www.radiolina.it or we can download its mobile application on iOS or Android platforms. I have one on my iPhone, and i enjoy its programs; simple, entertaining with Italian, English or Spanish song played on and we can listen the regional and national news put on its podcast; it’s awesome.; the last one is Videolina, is the regional television of Sardinia founded on 4 September 1975; the fact is, These three medias are currently running their news and programs until now.

Good information that I had during my visit in that building, a working complexes in Cagliari.  There, I had good companion from Radiolina, Mario Marci the Technical Departement Manager of Radiolina, who guided me to see every section of the departments in the building. We started the tour from Radiolina section where he let me see how they’re working on the studio. It was interesting that at that moment, I could interact and have short conversation with an announcer who’s working at the studio, standing in front of microphone with the headphones on the head, and mixer bar has been played by his hands. Mario also introduced me to his colleagues in anothers studio cabins; there’re four cabins there. Afterwards, he showed me the server room, where we can find all of the servers which this radio has. What a friendly meeting with them.

Next stop of our tour was the print newspaper section located at the same floor with Radiolina in back side of the building. It was a large room with many chairs and tables with the computer on them. It’s just a few minutes there, and we’re moving soon to the web section where we found some big screens. There, Mario’s explaining how they’re organizing the web page. So, that’s it at that floor. Then we’re moving to another level of the building to Videolina section. There, Mario explained about the program that they have, a big amount of journalists who’re working with, and then after, he invited me heading to the first floor to go inside the special studio for the Live Show it was a huge room which we can as usual watch on the television screen. It’s nice visit for me and along the way out from that studio, both of us were sharing about the listeners and funding sources of our radio, Radiolina and Radio Republik Indonesia. Funding sources of Radiolina come from advertising, while RRI’s comes from the State. RRI listeners are very segmented that’s why it has Pro1 is for regional radio, pro2 is for youngsters, music and entertainment radio, pro3 is nasional news center broadcast on FM and AM waves and relayed by satellite satellite, pro4 is for cultural radio; www.rri.co.id , while Mario said that all of Radiolina’s programs are “ascoltabile” or listenable so, everyone can enjoy it.

Last but not least that I could say once again, this visit would be impossible to be realized without the roles of two important men behind; Claudio Tumatis who’s very famous in every level of that building where everyone greeted him along our visit; and Federico Gaviano my journalist man from TDM2000International. I thank to both of them for that precious visit.
