Ms. Mateja Simonic, is the person in charge for the Higher Council for Department of Social Activities of the Municipality of Metlika, Slovenia. The local government gives importance to its youth by providing monetary subsidy amounting to 1,000 Euro per month through the youth organization Kud Plac.

The local government helps in youth empowerment by supporting them to join in sports and musical competitions. There is a good coordination of the youth organization to its local government, they are given high considerations in terms of budget and place in the society.

He became an elected President of Kud Plac organization last year for a 2 year term with an objective to connect with other youth organizations that could break the barrier due to cultural differences and be united in a similar purpose or goal of empowering the youth. He is currently taking up History and Sociology at University of Ljubljana and comes every weekend and during his free time to his hometown Metlika where the organization is based.
