EVS On Arrival Training in Ankaran

After 1,5 months in Metlika, all the new EVS in Slovenia are invited to join the 5 days EVS on Arrival Training that was located at the seaside if Slovenia. It was a great experience for us because we were not only able to meet other EVS around Slovenia, we also able to learn a lot and create larger network in Europe.

The place was nice, it was a villa and resort by the beach located in Ankaran, a few minutes bus drive from the famous city of Piran. The first day, the training was participated by the EVS volunteers and mentors. We talked about responsibilities and relationship between the volunteers and the mentors. At the end of the day, we made a contract agreement between volunteer and mentor so both have good experience during the EVS time.

The next days, the trainings were only for volunteers. The training covered many topics including project management, YouthPass, Erasmus+ program, we also did a few exercises in groups, a small projects in groups which we had to go to different cities and we had to present it at the end of the day.

This training was a really great experience for me because we share our thoughts and opinions on group discussions, learn how to deal with other people with different personality and work with them in projects. The on arrival training was on of the best experiences I had while I am in Slovenia.
