Biography
I’m a journalist based in Boracay Island in the Philippines. I currently work as a writer and editor for Boracay Informer, a regional newspaper based in the island; and as a contibutor writer for Boracay Sun and correspondent for Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Before I moved to Boracay Island, I have also worked as a news writer for The News Today in Iloilo City, also a part of the Visayas region.
I was born and raised in Capiz, the seafood capital of the Philippines. Then transferred to Iloilo to pursue my college education.
Aside from writing, I spend most of my time volunteering for organizations which promotes my advocies in life. I’m a member of the local collective of Dakila (Filipino word for Noble). It is a non-government organization with advocacies focusing on human rights, gender equality, women and children and the environment. As a former coordinator of the group, I spearheaded the Stop Look and Listen Campaign in Iloilo. Through critical mass ride (bike ride), the project aims to promote awareness and stop human trafficking in the Philippines. I also volunteer for other local organizations like Pastillas Diaries, with programs related to children’s welfare.
