3 Months EVS Program to Slovenia

After the training courses held in Bali, finally it’s time to take part for an EVS program in Europe. From 4 Countries (Italy, Portugal, Malta and Slovenia), Slovenia is my choice. Why? The host organization that I am volunteering for (Kud Plac) focus their projects and work on art and culture, which is the field that I interested in. They manage a youth center in Metlika that is called Mladiski Center.

The youth center normally host school kids. Kids normally come after school which is at noon, they play games, music or just hanging out at the center. They also held some workshops or events for adults like drawing, painting or sculpting workshops. I will tell more about the activities happens in the youth center on the next blog posts.

Metlika is a nice small city. Everything can be reach by walking distance, even the Croatian boarder is located only 20 minutes walk from the center. The city is very clean, people are very concern with the surroundings. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with another EVS volunteer from Greece who loves to cook (good for me) which is located only 2 minutes walk to the center.

Our program for the first week is just relaxing, getting familiar with the town, meeting the locals, go to museums and do some stuff which is good. Then the second week, we will start our serious stuff with working schedule and projects. It seems like it will be a fun EVS experience here.
